About usLightwood Consultancy Ltd has been in business for more than 10 years and we are proud of our reputation for creating first class software solutions. Lightwood exists, primarily, as a bespoke software development house, providing high quality, individually tailored applications for clients around the world. Our customers range from small businesses to large enterprises, coming from sectors as diverse as automotive, telecommunications and the public sector. Our key skills facilitate the development and maintenance of dynamic, database-driven web applications sites using technologies including PHP, MySQL, Apache, AJAX, Linux, PostgreSQL, CSS and JavaScript. We have particular experience working with real-time online payments, for e-commerce stores, subscription-based web sites and online gaming operators. We have partnered with several electronic payment processors in order to make online business work securely and effectively for our clients. Lightwood also offers high quality web hosting, under the DataSnake brand, from a state-of-the-art datacentre facility in London's Docklands. The company was formed by Chris Newman in 1999 to further his interest in dynamic web site development - an area that was then still in its infancy. Newman is considered a world class web developer and has shared his experience in several technical books on the subject. His work has been translated into Polish, Hungarian and Russian and adapted into a video training product. Some of Lightwood's most recent work has been developing applications for mobile platforms, such as the iPhone. With our wealth of experience creating multi-user database applications in a distributed enviroment, this is a natural extension of our skillset and something that we expect to be involved in to a greater degree in the future. |
